July 29, 1960 - Mason City Globe Gazette - Funeral services for Fred Illg, 77, retired farmer of St. Joe, were held Thursday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. A nephew, the Rev. Francis Illg, Ogden, officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. Hamilton Funeral Home, Algona, was in charge of arrangements.

Born March 1, 1883 at Winfield, Illinois to Joseph and Mary Illg. He had lived in the St. Joe area since he was 2. He was married to Margaret Kaiser, May 21, 1907.

Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Mrs. George (Amalie) Wagner, Mrs. Harold (Gertrude) Reding, Mrs. Alfred (Helen) Reding and a son, Herman Illg, all of the St. Joe area.
