Dec 25, 1958 - Kossuth county Advance - Funeral services for Nicholas Fisch, 74, were held Tuesday morning at St. Cecelia's Catholic church here with Msgr. P.P. Gearen officiating. Burial was in the St. Joseph cemetery at St. Joe.
Mr. Fisch, a retired farmer, died at St. Ann hospital Saturday after an illness of nine weeks. He lived at 322 South Wooster street here. Serving as pallbearers were Frank Zeimet, Dominic Zeimet, Matt Weydert, Matt Besch, Matt Fisch, and Victor Fischer.
He was born June 21, 1884 in Ober Jeulen, Luxembourg. He came to the St Joe area in 1905 when 21 years of age. He stayed for 6 years returned to Luxembourg & then returned again to this country in 1918. Since that time he has farmed near St Joe until 1946 when he moved with his wife to Algona. Catharine Felton was united in marriage to Mr Fisch in Luxembourg in 1916 & she survives.
Also surviving are the following children: Margaret, Mrs. Anton Weydert, Bode; Marie, Mrs. Raymond Thilges, Bode; Loretta, Mrs. Delmar Plathe, Bode; Roseann, Mrs. James Putzstuck, Ottosen. One daughter preceded him in death. Also surviving are two sisters still living in Luxembourg and 11 grandchildren. Hamilton's had charge of the arrangements.
