March 7, 1923 - Emmetsburg Democrat - A few days ago Casper Erpelding, who lived southeast of Whittemore, died of pneumonia following the flu. He leaves a wife and five small children. Undertaker E.J. Foy of this city was called to the place at a late hour at night to assist in preparing the body for burial, he was accompanied on the trip by Dr. Jansson. All of the members ot the family were sick when Mr. Erpelding passed away. The case was a sad one.
