Nov 13, 1972 - Kossuth County Advance - William B. Devine, 83, of St. Joe died Thursday morning at Mercy Hospital in Fort Dodge. Funeral services for Mr. Devine were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the St. Joseph Catholic church with his son, the Rev. William B. Devine of Denison, the celebrant. Burial was in the church cemetery, the Wilson Funeral Home of Algona in charge of the arrangements. Pallbearers were Roman Gales, John Gales, James R. Devine, James M. Devine, Harold Dresser, and Pat Ennis.

Mr. Devine was born in Sherman Township of Kossuth County on April 29, 1889, son of James and Mary Dunn Devine He attended country school and was married to Hilda S. Gales on August 20, 1929 at St. Joe. They operated the grocery store and service station in St. Joe and later, also farmed. Mrs. Devine died Feb. 8, 1971.

He is survived by one son, the Rev. W.B. Devine of Denison and two sisters; Mrs. Nellie Dresser, Humboldt and Mrs. Regina Ennis of Clarion. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, five brothers and one sister, Sadie Skilling.
