Oct 3, 1939 - Kossuth County Advance - John Capesius, 74, died Saturday at his home here, after having been bedfast 21 months. He suffered a stroke December 28, 1937, and had been partly paralyzed and speechless most of the time since then.

Funeral services were held this morning (Tuesday) at St. Cecelia's church, with burial at St. Joe. For many years Mr. and Mrs. Capesius farmed south of Algona, in the St. Joe neighborhood. Eleven years ago they retired and moved to Algona. Mrs. Capesius is a brother of John Goeders living here. There are two - sons: Bernard, who farms southeast of Algona, and Julius, near St. Joe.

Besides the sons Mr. Capesius is survived by his wife and three brothers; William, Chicago; Frank, farming near Algona; Edward, in the real estate business here; and by two sisters; Mrs. J.F. Miller, Brainerd, Minn., and Mrs. Phillip Deller, living in Wisconsin.
