I have an old photo of an elderly woman found in my Great Grandfather Oren W. Beck's collection. The photo was taken in Keota IA at Brinkley & Finney Potographers and had Grumond engraved at top of frame. The only name on the back was BECK.
My BECK family moved from Madison, Jefferson Co., IN in 1900 - 1920 to Chelsea, South Tama County IA and they remain in this area today.
GGrandfather Oren BECKs father, Winfield Scott BECK, faught and died in the Civil War for Indiana. I have never learned who his parents and siblings were. This photo may be the link to the family/siblings of Winfield Scott BECK.
Winfield S Beck married Elizabeth Ann BROWN in Jeff. Co., IN 1856 and they had two children: Mary Alice BECK m. James Sylvestor DAVIS and moved to Haven, South Tama Co. IA in 1912; Oren W. BECK m. Kate ElENBAAS and moved to CHELSEA IA in 1901. I will be most happy to hear from anyone with connections to these families.
