My Grandmother K.McMillan was a friend of this family years ago. I can remember at the time of this incident, my Grandmother was very upset. When the sale of the furnishings, etc of this home was auctioned off, my Grandmother and I attended this sale. I was only 9 or 10 years old. At a different time (within the last 10-12 years) the Des Moines Register (Des Moines, Iowa) printed a large article on this mass murder. At that time Patsy, wouldn't devulge where or by what name she was going by, but was still alive. Later there was an article about Smith. At one time I had kept these articles, but I don't think I have them anymore. For any of the obituaries, try the Keokuk County, Iowa courthouse, as they have all records in that county. Also, the Sigourney News Review at Sigourney, Ia. may have some articles.
