FRANK ANTHONY MARTIN

Frank Anthony Martin was born near Wayland in Henry Co. Ia. December 14, 1874 and died in Sigourney February 19, 1898. The greater part of his life was spent in Henry, Washington, and Keokuk counties in this state, coming to Sigourney where he lived with his brother up to the time of his death.

He was an engineer by trade and the last work he did was to run an engine for threshing.

His father died 22 years ago and left his mother with a family of small children and Frank learned early habits of industry.

He had been a great sufferer from the dreaded disease rheumatism, which was the conqueror at last.

He leaves to mourn the loss, a mother who has tenderly cared for him during his long sickness, also seven brothers and a sister, Mrs. Silas White of Lone Tree, Ia. He was a general favorite among his acquaintances and associates and will be sadly missed by them. He was a believer in Christ and made a confession of his faith a few days before his death.

A large number of friends attended his funeral and followed his mortal form to its last rest in the Sigourney cemetery. He awaits the coming of loved relatives and friends in the paradise of God.
