Floyd J. Wickenkamp, 74, rural Martinsburg, died Mon., Jan. 19, 2004, at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.
He was born Aug. 17, 1929, near Clear Creek, the son of Carl and Clara Ollinger Wickenkamp. He graduated from Sigourney High School in 1947. He played the accordian in the family band, starting at age 10 until the early 1960's. He served in the U.S. Army. He farmed with his brother Frank near Clear Creek and after marriage to Rose Marie Moeller on July 11, 1964, in Houghton, he lived and farmed near Martinsburg. He manufactured and sold live traps for many years. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Sigourney and the National Trappers Association.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Leon and Lester Wickenkamp; two daughters, Angela Shadley and Aileen; two grandchildren; and two brothers, Walter and Frank.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Omer.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thurs., Jan. 22, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sigourney with the Rev. Philip Ryan officiating. Burial will follow at the Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Clear Creek.
