Leroy Singleton Ulin, 88, of Sigourney died Sun., Aug. 23, 1998, at the Sigourney, Care Center.
He was born April 16, 1910, in Hayesville, to Levi and Ethel Jacobs Ulin. He married Nettie M. Vittetoe on Jan. 12, 1935 in Sigourney. She died Dec. 18, 1982. He farmed in the Sigourney area until moving into Sigourney in July 1995. He played baseball, for Hayesville and Sigourney, teams as a young man. He was a member of Independent Order of Odd Fellows for 48 years; the Keokuk County Historical Society, the Lancaster Heritage Association and the United Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by three daughters, Nancy Weber, Jeanette Adams and Shirley Watson; three sons, Richard, Jearold and Roger; 16 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Letha Seaba and Geraldine Thompson; and a brother, Gerold.
He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; two brothers, Harold and Dean; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Services were held Aug. 25 at the United Presbyterian Church, the Rev. Kate Stangl officiating. Burial was in Bethel Cemetery near Delta.
