Doris Allene Rankin, 75, of Delta died Tues., Oct. 13 1998.

She was born July 3, 1923, the daughter of Ollie and Opal Tressler Olive. She graduated from Delta High School in 1941 and from Burlington Protestant Hospital Nurses Training in 1944. On Dec. 16, 1944 she married Russell Lee Rankin in Oskaloosa. She worked as a nurse in a San Francisco Hospital during World War II, returning to, Iowa to work as a nurse at Mahaska County Hospital, Keokuk County Hospital and Ottumwa Hospital before retiring in the early 1970's. She was a former member of the Delta American Legion Auxiliary and was a member of the Delta Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Russell, on July 8, 1983 and an infant brother, Charles.

She is survived by two sons, Michael and Dennis; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Arlene Stanley Green and Donna Krier.

Funeral services were held Thurs., Oct. 15 at Garrett Cemetery with Vince Homan officiating.
