Harold E. Prather, 78, of Davenport, died Mon., Mar. 11, l996.

He was born Dec. 25, 1917, in Sigourney to Joseph and Ella Bruns Prather. He attended school in Sigourney. He married Ruth Marie Long in Ottumwa on Sept. 7, 1940. He served in the U.S. Military during WWII. For over 25 years, he worked as a machinist in the plow and planter division of John Deere in Moline, Ill. He was an accomplished carpenter.

He is survived by his wife Ruth; a daughter, Cheryl Dickey; a son, Neil Prather; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Raymond.

Services were held. Sat., Mar. 16, at 2 p.m. at Holm Funeral Home in Sigourney with the Rev. Bonnie Horstman officiating. Burial was in Pennington Cemetery.
