Margaret Lawrance, 94, of Delta died June 25, 1995, at the Keokuk County Health Center in Sigourney.

She was born July 18, 1900, near Delta to Walter and Abigail Brokaw Snodgrass. She married William Lawrance January 10, 1920, in Sigourney. He died May 30, 1981.

She graduated from Delta High School in 1918, attended Iowa Teachers College in Cedar Falls and taught at Burr Oak School in 1919 and 1920. She and her husband lived and farmed in the Delta area for many years.

She was a member of Delta Christian Church, Eastern Star Lodge, American Legion Auxiliary and the Federated Women's Club.

She is survived by two sons, Paul and Donald "Jack"; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Harry, William, Pete, Ralph and Earl Snodgrass; and a sister, Mary Sigafoose.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 27 at Holm Funeral Home in Sigourney with Rev. Vince Homan officiating. Burial was in Garrett Cemetery near Delta.
