La Rue Jacobs, 84, of Sigourney, died Thursday, July 21, 1994, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics of injuries sustained in an auto accident on June 27, 1994.

She was born October 26, 1909, northwest of Sigourney, to Frank and Elsa Snakenberg Moore. She married Robert Jacobs April 27, 1927, in Bloomfield. She graduated from Sigourney High School, and lived and farmed northeast of Sigourney for over 40 years. She moved into Sigourney in 1987. She was a member of the Sigourney United Methodist Church and the UMW.

She is survived by four sons, Frank, Bill, Richard and Alan, one daughter, Donna Berrier, 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, one brother Richard Moore, and one sister Clarys Appleget.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, in 1987, one son, Robert and one brother, James.

Services were held Saturday, July 23, 1994, at 1:00 p.m at the United Methodist Church in Sigourney with the Rev. Danny Lemons officiating. Burial was in the Pennington Cemetery in Sigourney.
