George William "Bill" Jacobs, 52, died Sun., Nov. 25, 2001.

He was born July 7, 1949, the son of Hershal and Marlene (Fuhs) Jacobs in Sigourney. He graduated from English Valleys High School. He attended Muscatine Community College and later received his masters degree from the University of Iowa. He married Kathie Brooks in 1979. The couple later divorced. He had worked as a coach and teacher at Pecantonica, Ill., Blakesburg, Dallas Center, Seymour, Des Moines, and for the past two years at Manson where he taught at the Alternative School and was the Junior Varsity Basketball Coach for Manson Northwest Webster High School.

He is survived by a daughter, Jamie Jacobs; a son, Josh Jacobs; four brothers, Steven Jacobs, Wyman Jacobs, Ron Jacobs and Tim Jacobs; and an aunt, Leda McAdams.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services were held Thurs., Nov. 29 at Grimes. Burial was at Pennington cemetery, Sigourney.
