HUSBAND, SKIDMORE, VAN PATTEN, FRY, TRUSLER, DEBOEF

Mildred Husband, 88, of What Cheer, died Thurs., Nov. 1, 2001, at the Manor House Care Center in Sigourney.

She was born Aug. 31, 1913, in What Cheer, the daughter of George and Sarah "Tillie" Skidmore Van Patten. She was a 1932 graduate of What Cheer High School. She was united in marriage to Lawrence H. Husband on Feb. 27, 1933, in Lancaster, Mo. A homemaker and farmwife all her life, she was a lifelong resident of the What Cheer area. She was a member of the What Cheer United Methodist Church, the Royal Neighbors of America and the Hi-Neighbor Club. She enjoyed flowers, embroidery and fishing.

She is survived by her son, Lawrence; her daughter, Lois Fry; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; five step-great great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Beulah Van Patten and Marie Trusler; and a brother, George.

Funeral services were held Sun. Nov. 4, at Harden Funeral Chapel in What Cheer with the Rev. John DeBoef of the Hilltop Chapel officiating. Burial was in the Sixteen Cemetery near Thornburg.
