William D. "Bill" Icenbice, 78, of Sigourney, died Jan. 6, at the Keokuk County Hospital.

Bill was born May 11, 1925 near Deep River, to Ernest and Beryl Hopwood Icenbice. He attended country school near Deep River. On Nov. 14, 1952, he married Martha Jane Williams. They lived in the Deep River area where Bill worked as a farmhand. Martha died July 11, 1967.

He began working for Kingsbury Homes in 1965. On July 25, 1969 he married Ida Mae Mewes at the Sigourney Methodist Church and moved to Sigourney. He continued to work at Kingsbury until it closed in 1980. He owned an acreage north of Sigourney and loved to spend time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Martha, a son, James Icenbice and two brothers, Floyd, and Ivan Icenbice.

Those left to mourn his passing are his wife Ida Mae, a daughter Susan Stull, a son, Rodger Icenbice, three granddaughters, Becky
Karr, Jennifer Icenbice, Amanda Stull and a great-grandson Joseph Karr.

Services will be held at the Holm Funeral Home in Sigourney Jan. 8 at 1:30 p.m with the Rev. Kate Stangl officiating. Burial will be in Golden Rod Cemetery, Deep River.
