Marie Husband, 92, of Delta, died July 30 at the Pleasant Park Care Center in Oskaloosa.

She was born on Sept. 4, 1906 in Lancaster, the daughter of John and Lucy Williams. She was raised and educated in the Lancaster area and later married Ansley Dawson in 1929; A homemaker for most of her life. Marie had also done baby-sitting for many area families. In 1975, she married John Husband in Sigourney and together they lived in Delta until 1994 when she became a resident at the Pleasant Park Care Center in Oskaloosa.

She is survived by two step-sons, Kenneth Husband and Mervin Husband; three step-daughters, Veva Hermanstorfer, Margaret Herr and Dorothy Gibson; many step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Ansley, in 1946; her second husband, John, in 1990; two infant children; two step-sons, Dale and Clarence Husband; a step-son-in-Iaw, Arlo Gibson; a brother, Gaye Williams and three sisters, Alma, Beatrice and Freada.

Services were held August 2 at Harden Funeral Chapel in What Cheer with Pastor Don Ridenour officiating.

Burial was in Pennington Cemetery near Sigourney.
