Dr. Robert E. Gorman, of Hedrick, died Wed., Dec. 13, 1995 in Peach Tree, Ga., at the home of his son, Dr. Richard Gorman.

He was born Sept. 13, 1917, in Waukesha, Wis., to John and Mae Gorman. He earned Ph.D. and M.S. degrees from the University of Wisconsin and the Ed.D. from Indiana University. He served in higher education at Ball State University, Northern Montana College, the University of Arizona, and the University of Montana. He held several Student Personal Services positions at these schools including: Counselor, Registrar, Dean of Students, Director of Placement, and Director of Counseling and Testing Services. He held the title of professor when he retired in 1978. He served in the United States Army from 1942-1945. He married Dorothy J. Williams in 1946. She died in 1986. In 1987 he married Dorothy S. Schultz.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy of Hedrick;· his sons, James and Richard; a daughter, Sue Gorman; a stepson, Lee E. Schultz; and a stepdaughter, Shirley Stockstill; two brothers, William and Jack; a sister, Elenor Tetzlaff; and six grandchildren.

His body was cremated and his ashes were interred at the Sunset Memorial Gardens in Missoula, Montana.

A memorial service was held Dec. 17, at the Hedrick United Methodistt Church at 9 a.m. in conjunction with the morning worship service with Pastor Joe Lloyd officiating.
