Wilda Rae Denny, 85, died Nov. 30, 2001, at the Keokuk County Health Center.

She was born Dec. 30, 1915 in rural Keokuk County, the daughter of Andrew and Nellie Josephine (Fry) Johnson. She graduated from Rose Hill High School. She married Charles Marshall Denny on Oct. 11, 1933 at the Delta Methodist Church Parsonage. They lived and farmed near Delta. Later they moved to Ottumwa and returned to Delta in 1992. She was a resident at the Sigourney Care Center since November of 1994. She was a member of the Delta Methodist Church and a former member of the Helping Hand Club.

She is survived by a daughter, Beverly Heisdorffer; a son, Richard Denny; seven grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, on March 13, 1999; a brother, Emmanuel Johnson; and two sisters, Mae Howard and Elsie Denny.

Services were held Tues., Dec. 4 at the Delta Methodist Church with Rev. Vince Homan offtciating. Burial was at the Garrett Cemetery in Delta.
