Russell Clubb, 76, of Sigourney died July 17, 1998, at the Mahaska County Hospital in Oskaloosa.

He was born Aug. 29, 1921, in Delta to Peter and Elizabeth Clark Clubb. He attended country schools in Keokuk county. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the South Pacific from 1942 to 1945. He married Darlene Merryfield on Dec. 21, 1945, in Delta. She died March 11, 1997. He worked in masonry and owned and operated D and R's in Sigourney from 1972 until it burned down in 1979. He was a member of Sigourney Lacey Kerr V.F.W. Post 2308 and he served with the Sigourney Honor Guard.

He is survived by five sisters, Allegra Cooney, Peggy Derby, Joan Grimm, Margaret Teeter and Doris Owings; and four brothers, Forrest, Roger, Gordon and Larry.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Rodney.

Services were held Sun., July 19 at Garrett Cemetery with military honors, the Rev. Frances Baumert officiating.
