Forrest Everett Clubb, 78, of Sigourney, died Thurs., March 11, 2004, at the VA Medical Center in Iowa City.

He was born Feb. 17, 1926, near What Cheer, the son of Peter and Elizabeth Clark Clubb. He attended high school in Webster. He served in the United States Army from May of 1944 until December of 1945. He Was a P.O.W. and received the Purple Heart. He married Helen Marie Fritchen on June 7, 1947, at the Evangelical and Reformed Church in Sigourney. They lived and farmed in the Sigourney area, owned and operated the Sportsman's Lounge, the Clubb House and the Fairlane Motel in Sigourney. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Sigourney and the Ollie Masonic Lodge. He loved to fish, hunt, go mushrooming, play cards and enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by two sons, Dennis and Jeff; a son-in-law, Don-Zimmerman; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; five sisters, Allegra Cooney, Peggy Derby, Joan Grimm, Margaret Teeter and Doris Owings; three brothers, Roger, Gordon and Larry; and a sister-in-law Orpha.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife on Jan. 24, 1999; a daughter, Cyndi Zimmerman; two brothers, Russell and his wife, Darlene and Rodney; and a brother-in-law, LaVerne Grimm.

Funeral services were held March 15 at the First Presbyterian Church in Sigourney with the Rev. Kate Stangl officiating. Inurnment was at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery at Sigourney.
