Jean Elizabeth Bruns, 83, of Sigourney died, Nov. 24, at University Hospitals in Iowa City.

She was born July 6, 1915, in Heaton, N,D., to John and Louisa Standfield. She married Harold Ernest Bruns in 1935. He died March 13, 1981.

After graduating from Sigourney High School, she taught school at Stoney Point. She had driven a van for Tenco and also worked at Clubb House Cafe. She moved into Sigourney in 1983.

She is survived by a son, Myron; a granddaughter; a great-grandson; two step greatgrandsons; and a sister, Marjorie Fabian.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two granddaughters; a brother, Kenneth Standfield; and a sister, Bernadeen Bruns.

The service was Nov. 28 at Reynolds Funeral Chapel in Sigourney, the Rev. Kate Stangl officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
