Bernard N. "Benny" Waechter, 80, of Keota, died Nov. 1, 1999.

He was born April 9, 1919 near Clear Creek, the son of Frank and Juliana Mary Weber Waechter. He attended school at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic School at Clear Creek. He helped build the Natural Gas Pipeline in Harper. He farmed and was a carpenter for many years working construction. He moved to Keota in 1980. He was a member of the Holy Trinity Parish, Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, in Clear Creek. He was also a member of United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners Union Local #1260 and the Angus Association.

He is survived by his brother, Walter and his wife Doris; three sisters, Theola and her husband Francis Lyle, Leona Hotchkiss and Irma and her husband Omar Flanders; two sister's-in-law, Viola Waechter and Velma Waechter; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Floyd and Francis Waechter; and a brother-in-law, Robert Hotchkiss.

Services were held Nov. 22 at the Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Clear Creek with the Rev. Timothy Regan officiating. Burial was in the Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
