Dennis G. Stein, 51, of Bettendorf died Sat., Oct, 2, 1999 at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus, Davenport.

He was born March 3, 1948 in Sigourney, the son of Gaylord J. and Eva (Hartgrave) Stein. He was a graduate of Hamilton School of Business where he received an associates degree in business technology. He was an independent trucker and worked for several area auto dealerships shuttling cars between dealers.

He is survived by his mother; a daughter, Dena Marie Stein; aunts, Betty Kiefer, Bonnie Gilbert, Donna Hough, Judith Ann Ellis, Geneva Winn, Pat Reynolds and Marjorie Jones; uncles, Kenneth Stein and Stanley Stein; a special friend, Vera Stein; and many nieces and nephews.

He was, preceded in death by his father; his grandparents; aunts Roberta Linder and Gennette Graff; and uncles Clayborn and Junior Stein.

Funeral services were held Tues., Oct. 5 at the McGinnis, Chambers and Sass Funeral Home in Bettendorf with the Rev. James, Opgenorth officiating. Burial will be Thurs., Oct. 7 at the Pennington Cemetery in Sigourney.
