Mrs. Cecil (Gladys) Parcel, 80, of Ottumwa, formerly of Keokuk County, died Mon., Mar. 23, 1987 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Ottumwa.

She was born July 12, 1906 in Ringgold county, daughter of Claude and Edith Clayton Harsh. She attended country schools in Appanoose county. She was married to Cecil Phillip Parcel Feb. 2, 1928 at her family home in Centerville. They moved to Keokuk County in 1939 and she moved to Ottumwa in 1977. Mr. Parcel died Jan. 30, 1975. She was a member of the. Golden Rule workers of the Hayesville Church and the Chastine Goodwill Club.

Survivors include one son, Duane C.; one daughter, Mrs. Gerritt (Nadine) Heemsberger; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Alta Seals, Liola McWilliams and Wilma Taylor.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Gary Heemsberger and three sisters, Ada Harsh, Neva Parcel and an infant sister.

Funeral services will be held Thurs., Mar. 26 at 1:30 p.m. at the Hayesville Church with the Rev.
Gary Dobbins officiating and burial in Pennington Cemetery.
