Ethel Schumacher, 75, of Sigourney died Mon., Feb. 16 at the University Hospitals in Iowa City.

She was born Sept. 15, 1911, at Lancaster, the daughter of Calvin R. and Katherine E. Ragan Utterback.

She graduated from the Sigourney high school in 1928. She was married to Earl V. Schumacher on Nov. 30, 1941, at Kahoka, Mo., and he preceded her in death on Aug. 20, 1977. They were the parents of two sons, Richard, and Lyle.

She was receptionist at Schumacher Radio and T.V. when her husband owned and operated the business, she was a member of the Lancaster Christian Church.

In addition to her two sons, she is survived by a brother, Fordyce Utterback, and six grandchildren.

Preceding her in death besides her husband were her parents and a brother, Gene F. Utterback.

Services were held Thurs., Feb. 19, at 2 p.m., Lancaster Christian Church with the Rev. Don Dye and the Rev. Frances Baumert, officiating. Burial was in Pennington cemetery, south of Sigourney.
