Albert Wallace Engle, 70, of Sigourney died Wednesday, September 15, 1993, at Keokuk County Health Center.

He was born August 9, 1923, in Keokuk County to Clarence Elmer and Minnie Rohloff Engle. He married Jean Jennings in Bloomfield. He attended Sigourney High School and graduated in 1942 from Toledo High School. After graduation he served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1945. He lived in the Sigourney area all of his life and worked as a laborer and later for Seibel Hardware, Winegarden Plumbing and Heating and Hervey Plumbing and Heating. After retiring in 1985, he and his wife worked together as custodians for Iowa Southern Utilities and John Deere. He was a member of Sigourney United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Linda Brower and Connie Weber and Sue Winter; a son, Jim; six grandchildren; and one sister, Myrtle Engle.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, LeRoy.

The service was at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 17 at Sigourney United Methodist Church, the Rev. Danny Lemons officiating. Burial was in Conner Cemetery.
