Raymond B. Van Ness, 73, died at Malvern, Arkansas, Feb. 19, 1980. He was formerly of Martinsburg.

He was born Dec. 22, 1906 in Keokuk county. He married Mabel Gayer Oct. 22, 1929 in Ottumwa. He was a retired farmer.

Mr. Van Ness is survived by a daughter, Wauneita Green and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral services were Feb. 23 at Shrine of Memories Funeral Home in Ottumwa with the Rev. Leland Enke of Martinsburg United Methodist church officiating. Burial was at Memorial Lawn cemetery in Ottumwa.
