Mrs. Leonard (Jeanne) Tygart, 55, died Oct. 1, 1981 at the Ottumwa hospital.

She was born March 16, 1926 to August and Flossie Derby Sievers in Sigourney. She attended school at Sigourney and Indian Hills Community College.

She married Leonard Tygart on April 11, 1943 in Kirksville, Missouri. They lived at Keswick from 1948 to 1953, when they moved to Hayesville. She worked as postal clerk from 1967 until 1980 at Hayesville and Ottumwa and was appointed postmaster at Hayesville in 1980 and served until May 1981.

She was a member of the Methodist church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, Phil Killian and two brothers, Earl and Irwin Sievers.

Survivors include her husband, Leonard; a daughter Linda Killian and a son Michael; four granddaughters and two grandsons; one brother Arthur Sievers; two sisters Mrs. Donavan (Bette) Soll and Mrs. Ronald (Shirley) List.

Services were Oct. 4 at Holm Funeral home with the Rev. Bob L. Renner of South Keokuk Church of the Brethren officiating. Burial was in the Pennington cemetery.
