Bruce Ivan Taylor of Delta died Nov. 30, 1985 at his home following an accident at his farm.

Mr. Taylor was born Feb. 6, 1925 at Delta, the son of Ottis and Floy Dickson Taylor. He lived in the area all his life. He graduated from Sigourney high school and was a member of the Delta Christian church. He was a Seaman 1st Class in WW II. He was a member of the Delta Volunteer Fire Department, Center Lodge 575 AF & AM, Rath Kamp Match Cover Society, the Iowa State and National Holstein Association, Keokuk County Peace Officers Association and Clubb Shipley Delta American Legion Post 485. He was a 4-H leader for 40 years and was a lifetime member of Iowa State Historical Society. He exhibited and worked at the Midwest Old Settlers and Threshers Association for many years,

He married Carol Duensing Aug. 27, 1953 at St. Paul’s Evangelical and Reformed Church in Sigourney. They spent their married life on a farm near Delta. They owned and operated Taylor Hardware Store in Delta since 1977.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Robert; two daughters, Mrs. Daryl (Diane) Barnhart and Lois Taylor; a granddaughter; and a sister Mrs. James (Hilda) Souer.

Services were held at the Delta Christian church with the Rev. George Mullins officiating. Burial was at Springfield cemetery, Delta.
