Mrs. John (Hazel L.) Suter, 67, died May 19, 1984,at Maplewood Manor, Keota, where she had been a resident one week following an illness of five and a half months.

She was born March 27, 1917 at Oxford, the daughter of Talbert C. and Clyde Mahoney Tadlock. She married John J. Suter on April 12, 1941 at Omaha, Nebraska and he preceded her in death in June 1955. Following her husband’s death she worked for the U.S.D.A. at the Keokuk County ASCS office. She was employed there for 22 years, retiring in 1979.

She was a member of the Sigourney Christian church and Chapter L of P.E.O.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. David (Cynthia) Newell and Mrs. Donald (Elizabeth) Hoskins; a son David; six grandchildren; four brothers, Ralph Tadlock, Raymond Tadlock, Thomas Tadlock and Talbert Tadlock Jr.; and a sister Ruth Fass.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; two brothers and four sisters.

Services were May 22 at the First Christian church with the Rev. George Mullins officiating. Burial was at the Church of the Brethren cemetery at South English.
