Marvin Robert Strasser, 71, of Oskaloosa died March 7, 1986 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

He was born October 3, 1914 in What Cheer, the son of Irvin and Ida White Strasser.

He married Nancy Lou Utterback in Sigourney October 31, 1936.

He was a life-long farmer in the What Cheer and Gibson area until 1977 when he moved to Oskaloosa. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Oskaloosa.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy; two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Betty) Armstrong and Mrs. Keith (Esther) Augustine; two sons, Robert “Bob” and Gary; 11 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; five brothers, Sylvan, Lyle, Henry, Morris and Marion.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters; and two brothers.

Services were held March 10 at the Harden Funeral Chapel in What Cheer with Rev. David Troxler officiating. Burial was at the Sixteen cemetery near Thornburg.
