Mrs. Joe (Marcella) Miller, 68, died Jan. 2, 1985 in the Keokuk county hospital after a lengthy illness.

She was born Aug. 26, 1916 at Henry, Illinois, to Peter and Dora Just Etscheid. She graduated from LaSalle-Peru high school and St. Anthony’s school of nursing in Rock Island, Illinois. She worked as a registered nurse in the office of Dr. Reem in Peru, Illinois, also at the Veterans hospital in Bayrd, New Mexico, Greater Community hospital, Creston, St. Joseph hospital, Ottumwa and Keokuk county hospital in Sigourney. She married Joseph L. Miller, May 3, 1948, at Peru, Illinois.

She is survived by her husband; four sons, Joseph P., Gerard, Myles and Charles; a daughter, Anita Sasaki; five grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Kenneth (Dorothy Mae) Greathouse; and a brother, Elwood Etscheid and a half brother, Frank Etscheid.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Etscheid.

Services were Jan. 5 at St. Mary Catholic church in Sigourney with Msgr. Edward Greer officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Grove cemetery.
