Raymond R. Klein, age 66, of Sigourney, died June 17 at University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City following a tractor accident that morning.

He was born Aug. 27, 1913 to Michael and Maggie Holmes Klein at East Lancaster. He attended grade school in Lancaster and graduated from Sigourney high school in 1931. He married Lois Gillam of Sigourney on May 12, 1935 and started farming in Keokuk County.

He was a member of the Sigourney Christian church, I.O.O.F. Lodge No. 98 and Four Rivers Coon Hunters Association. He was a past member of the Soil Conservation Service, the Lancaster School Board and was the F.H.A. director for 20 years.

Survivors are his wife, Lois, one daughter, Mrs. Marna McLain, three sons, Don, Larry and David, one brother, Clark and one sister, Mrs. Ruth Chrisman, and six grandchildren.

Services were held June 20 at Sigourney Christian church with the Rev. George Mullins officiating. Burial was in Pennington cemetery.
