Maude Frances Kensler, 95, formerly of Delta, died Monday, Jan. 7, 1985 at the Manor House in Sigourney where she had resided since Dec. 17, 1975.

She was born September 15, 1889 in Delta, the daughter of Romeo and Mary Payton Knowler.

She was married to Charles Kensler, February 9, 1907. She and her husband farmed south of Delta until purchasing the Kensler Nursing Home in Sigourney which the operated for about 30 years. They retired to Delta after selling the Nursing Home.

She was a member of the Delta Methodist church.

She is survived by a son, Theodore, a daughter, Betty Green and a sister Edith Tanner; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and six great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1964; her daughter, Genevieve Sanger; three brothers, Emmett, Fred and Mace and four sisters, Pearl Alsop, Opal Jones, Bertha Ashley and Kate Kerr.

Services were held at Reynolds Funeral Chapel in Sigourney with Rev. Clay Rogers officiating. Burial was in Kensler cemetery south of Delta.
