J. Howard Jones, age 92, of Richland died at Jefferson county hospital Feb. 22, where he had been a patient for one month.

He was born Dec. 30, 1887 near Richland to Elisha and Adda Hampton Jones. He had lived in the Richland area all his life. He was a section foreman on the Milwaukee railroad for over 30 years and was a member of the Richland Friends church. He married Grace John Sept 21, 1906. She died Dec. 12, 1973.

Survivors include one son, Daryl; one granddaughter, Joyce Peiffer; five great grandchildren and three great great grandsons. He was preceded in death by his wife, two brothers and one sister.

Services were held Feb. 24 at Gould Funeral Home in Richland with the Rev. Kenneth Kinsey officiating. Burial was in Friends cemetery at Richland.
