Word has been received by relatives in this area of the death of Oscar Jones at his home in Horton, Kansas, following a lengthy illness.

He was born June 25, 1897 in Kansas to Joe and Lydia Payton Jones. He was united in marriage to Opal Knowler, of Delta, Iowa, Feb. 14, 1921. She survives. Also surviving are three sisters, Velma of Durant, Alta of Buffalo and Lila of Hiawatha, Kansas; two brothers, Lloyd of Hiawatha, Kansas and Joe of Davenport, Iowa. Also numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Jones lived for two years in the Sigourney and Delta communities and has several relatives in these communities.

Services were held Feb. 10 at the Cassleman and Meek Funeral Home in Hiawatha, Kansas. Burial was at the Netawaka cemetery there.
