Mrs. Richard (Ona Mildred) Chrisman, age 86, died Oct. 24, 1984 at the Keokuk county hospital.

She was born June 30, 1898 at Lancaster, Missouri, the daughter of William C. and Jane Hird Turner. She married Oris C. Brown of Lancaster, Mo. To this union was born one son, Calvin Leroy Brown. She married Richard L. Chrisman June 7, 1922 and he died May 21, 1973. They were the parents of a daughter, Mabel I. Harris.

Mr. & Mrs. Chrisman lived in Keokuk county most of their married life and had grocery and produce stores in Hayesville, Lancaster and Hedrick for many years. She was a member of the Martinsburg Methodist church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Mabel Collett, Ethel and Edith Turner; her husband; a stepson, Vernon D. Chrisman and two grandsons, Steven Chrisman and Royce Chrisman.

Survivors are a daughter, Mabel Harris; a son, Leroy Brown; two stepsons, Allen Chrisman and Charles Chrisman; 10 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

Services were Oct. 26 at Holm Funeral Home with the Rev. Melvin Reth, pastor of the Martinsburg United Methodist church, officiating. Burial was at Garrett cemetery, Delta.
