Allen Ralph Chilton, died April 29, 1986 at the age of 77.

He was born on Aug. 8, 1908 in Hartford, Conn., the son of Allen and Elizabeth Chilton. He married Verna Long on Sept. 26, 1936 in Des Moines, Iowa. He farmed near Hayesville, Iowa until 1977. He was a member of the Baptist church in Hartford, Conn. He was instrumental in founding the First Northwest National Poultry Show in 1981. He was interested in oriental antiques, horticulture and history. He attended the University of Connecticut and the University of Iowa.

Survivors include his wife, Verna; three sons, Michael, Anthony and Donald; three daughters Patricia Malone, Natalie Chilton and Dr. Sarah Stiegmann; two step sisters, Blanche Muller and Doris Smith; and eleven grandchildren.

Services were held May 2 at Buell Chapel with Pastor Ed McIndoo officiating. Burial was at Springfield Memorial Gardens, Springfield, Oregon.
