Zeffa Birkinbine, 87, of Sun City, Arizona, formerly of Keokuk County, died Dec. 3 at her home.

She was born March 12, 1898 near Jameson, Missouri, daughter of William and Mary Barton Pardun. She married Elmer Birkinbine Dec. 25, 1916 in Keota and they farmed for many years in Keokuk County. He died Feb. 28, 1978.

She is survived by a daughter, Lila Trout; one granddaughter; two great-grandsons; and two nieces and two nephews.

Burial was Dec. 6 at the Memorial Lawn cemetery in Ottumwa.
