Anne Marie Lucas, 46, of Sigourney, died Nov. 3, 2001, at Keokuk County Health Center.

She was born March 29, 1955, in Sigourney to Louis Joseph and Peggy Lou Bowers Herman Jr. She married Fredrick Harry Lucas July 4, 1974, in Sigourney.

A 1973 Sigourney High School graduate, she attended the University of Iowa. The couple lived in Washington and Mt. Pleasant, and returned to Sigourney in 1984, where she worked at United Federal Savings. In 1994, she was elected Keokuk County Treasurer and has served in that position since.

She was attending William Penn University, Oskaloosa. She was active in the Keokuk County Democratic Party and was troop committee chairman of Troop 52 Boy Scouts, Sigourney. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, St. Mary
Catholic Church, Sigourney, and the Altar and Rosary Society.

Surviving are her husband; three daughters, Cindy Lucas, Jenny Lucas and Martha Holley; two sons, Fred and Peter; two sisters, Carol Hersch, and Marge Farmer; and three brothers, Louis Herman III, David Herman and Jim Herman.

The service was Wednesday in St. Mary Catholic church, Sigourney, the Rev. Philip Ryan officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Sigourney.
