Mabel E. McCracken

RICHLAND - Mabel E. McCracken, 94, of Richland, died Saturday, Dec. 4, 1993, at Ottumwa Regional Health Center in Ottumwa.

The service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Friends Church in Richland with the Rev. Mike Emehiser officiating. Burial will be in Richland Friends Cemetery. Family visitation will begin at 7 tonight at Gould Funeral Home in Richland. A memorial has been established to her church.

Mrs. McCracken was born Oct. 14, 1889, near Packwood, the daughter of Ulysses and Mary Gillette Lyons. She attended Blue Point country school and graduated from Richland High School in 1920. On Sept. 1, 1921, she married Rufus H. McCracken in Richland. He died Nov. 11, 1984. She was a homemaker and a nursing home aide, a long-time member of Trinity Friends Church, United Society of Friends Women and Center Club.

Surviving are two sons, Lloyd of Richland, Roy of Brighton; five grandchildren; a foster grandchild; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Bea Baldock of Walnut Creek, Calif.; and a brother, Frederick Lyons of Mercedes, Texas. An infant grandchild, four brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
