Iona M. Appleget, 72, of Sigourney died Sept. 9, 1988 at Keokuk County Health Center.

She was born September 13, 1915, at Sigourney to Denny and Florence Fulton Decker.

She attended School in Sigourney. She was a cook for Keokuk County Home and Mahaska County Home.

She married Benjamin Applegate November 10, 1940, at Lancaster, MO. He died July 6, 1974.

She is survived by a daughter, Phyllis Bird; five grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.

Funeral services were held at Sept. 11 at the Holm Funeral Home in Sigourney with Rev. Joel Aurand officiating.

Burial was in East Cemetery.
