Helen Rose, 80, of Sigourney died March 22, 2001, at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City.

She was born Nov. 17, 1920, near Hedrick to Romeo and Altia Redding Moore. She married Delmar Rose on Jan. 21. 1939 in Ottumwa. She attended Tom Benton Country School near Hedrick. The couple lived and farmed in the Delta and Martinsburg areas until moving to Sigourney in 1992.

She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Patricia Seaba and Marilyn Walsh; a son, Jim Rose; nine grandchildren; 12 greatgrandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Eleanor Rose; a son, Steven; and a great-grandson, Joey Baird.

Services were held March 27 at Holm Funeral Home in Sigourney with the Rev. Vince Homan officiating. Burial was in the Garrett Cemetery near Delta.
