Nantie Alma Conner, 93, died in Sigourney. She was born Aug. 26, 1913 in West Lancaster Township, Keokuk County to William Henry and Florence Hayes Wilkening. She attended Basie Country School and graduated as class president of Sigourney High School class of 1932. She taught one year at Plank Township Country School #10.

On March 31, 1938 she married Frank Paul Conner. He died May 31, 1988. They lived and farmed all their lives until retiring and moving into Hayesville. She had lived at the Manor House since 1998.

She was a member of the Hayesville Church and the Hayesville Church Women. Alma loved the outdoors.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband Frank.

Those left to mourn her passing are her sister Lora and husband Willard Utterback Sr. and several nieces and nephews.

Services were at Holm Funeral Home, Sigourney, Sept. 30 with Pastor James Stout officiating. Burial was in Conner Cemetery, Sigourney.
