Death of B F Grimm
Benjamin Franklin Grimm was born in Columbiana Co., OH, 2/15/1838, and died at his home in Anamosa, 12/30/1926 at the age of 88 yrs, 10 mos, and 15 days.
He enlisted in the civil war at Camp Dennison, OH, 12.19/1861, in Co. 7 of the Ohio Battery of Light Artillery. He was discharged from service 2/1/1864, at Hebron, Miss. He was engaged in the siege of Vicksberg, but owing to sickness was unable to go with Sherman on march to the sea.
After the war ended, he came to Olin, IA and was married to Malinda Meek, 12/1/1867. The were the parents of 4 children: Edgar H, Mrs. Ella Brickley, Mrs. John Humpal of Anamosa, and Mrs. J H Brickley of Olin. They made the vicinity of Olin their home, with the exception of 3 yrs spent in WS and MN until the year 1891 they moved to Anamosa. His wife died 8/11/1922, and he has been tenderly cared for by his children during the 4 yrs he was left without her companionship. Mr. Grimm became a member of the M E church at Olin. Besides the children there are left 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Also a brother in OH and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at the home on Sat. afternoon, 1/1/1927, conducted by Rev. Joslin, assisted by Albert McMurrin, a student from Moody Bible Institute. Internment was at Riverside Cem. (Anamosa, IA)

The Anamosa City Hall has the Riverside Cem. records as well as a map.
