Minehart P. (Mike) Paulsen died at St. Luke's hospital in Cedar Rapids Tuesday at 1 p.m. following an illness of several weeks.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 26, at 1:30 p.m. at the Zion American Lutheran church, Wyoming. Rev. Alfred Mardorf and Rev. Harvey Gilberson will officiate. Burial will be in the Wayne Lutheran cemetery, rural Monticello.

Friends may call at the Goettsch funeral home, Monticello, until 10:30 a.m. Friday; after that at the church in Wyoming.

He was born Sept. 25, 1904, near Center Junction, the son of Peter H. and Sophie Katherina Bohlken Paulsen. He received his early education in the Onslow area schools. On Dec. 31, 1931, he married Genevieve Horton and the couple farmed in Scotch Grove township.

He was active in 4-H work, a member of the extension council and served 15 years on the Jones County Fair board and was a past president of that organization. He was a member of the American Lutheran church in Wyoming.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Paul (Ileen) Klein, Middletown, Ohio; two sons, James R., stationed at Clark air force base, the Philippines; and Dr. Kenneth L., Cedar Rapids; nine grandchildren.

Also two sisters, Mrs. Marvin (Agnes) Nissen, and Mrs. Clare (Amanda) Westphal, both of Wyoming; two brothers, George H., Onslow; and Cornelius W., Lowden.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Benhart.
