Funeral services for Richard F. Nickels will be held Friday, Jan. 22, at the Goettsch funeral home, Anamosa, at 2 p.m. He died at the Anamosa Community hospital Monday evening, Jan. 18. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery.

Born Feb. 14, 1908, he was the son of Frank and Beulah Oliver Nickels. He attended schools in the Anamosa area and was a retail clerk in Anamosa stores for a number of years. He married Mary Louretta Dayoff July 20, 1932, at Galena, Ill.

He is survived by one son, Richard A., Anamosa; one daughter, Mrs. Harlan (Marianne) Techau, Memphis, Tenn.; six grandchildren; one brother, Laurence, Anamosa; and two sisters, Mrs. Jack (Kathleen) O'Dell, Epworth; and Mrs. Robert (Laura) Munsen, Sacramento, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents, one brother and one sister.
