24 September 1970 - The Anamosa Eureka

OLIN - Alfred Theodore Moore, 68, died Tuesday, Sept. 15, at the Community hospital, Anamosa, following a brief illness.

A Family Prayer service was held at the Hayden Funeral home, Olin, on Thursday, Sept. 17, at 11:30 a.m., with Memorial services at Hayden's Funeral home, at 2 p.m. Rev. Lloyd Dutro conducted the services. Interment was in the Antioch cemetery.

Pallbearers included Ronald Moore, Donald Moore, Galen Moore, Thomas Moore, Lonnie Hinrichsen and Robert Graham.

Mrs. Galen Alexander was organist. Loren Hartwig was soloist.

He was born March 11, 1902, son of Homer and Florence Ralston Moore, at Canton. He was united in marriage to Katherine Hinricks on Jan. 17, 1925. Mr. and Mrs. Moore farmed in the Hale vicinity for several years and about 10 years ago they moved to the farm in the Newport community where they have made their home since that time.

Survivors include his wife; 13 children, Harlan Moore, Center Point; Roberta, Mrs. Gunther Christiansen, Wellman; Wanda, Mrs. Robert Peterson, Hale; Delbert Moore, Olin; Wylis Moore, Olin; Merlin Moore, Anamosa; Gloria, Mrs. Jack Bodkin, Olin; Larry Moore, Olin; Marlene, Mrs. Joe Levsen, Olin; Richard Moore, Olin; Carlyle Moore, Olin; Carol, Mrs. Chris Bendixsen, Olin; and Coleen, Mrs. Terry Ward, Onslow.

Others include thirty-six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Fern Graham, Burlington; four brothers, Louis Moore and Lester Moore, Clinton; Birdsellt Moore and Tom Moore, both of Maquoketa. A number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.

He was preceded in death by his mother in 1952; his father in August, 1970; three grandsons, two brothers and one sister.
